Disney Magical World Blog

Nintendo has provided me with an advance copy of Disney Magical World, which is now available for Nintendo 3DS. It has some gameplay similarities to Animal Crossing, while also featuring over 60 Disney characters. I'll be writing about the game and providing regular updates as I progress through the game. Want to start from the beginning?

Day 21: Peter Pan Party

While on an action quest in Cinderella's world, I caught a huge caching crab. It earned me a sticker for catching a fish bigger than 180 centimeters. And one of the items I picked up in that level allowed me to make the Big Ben wallpaper, which goes with the Peter Pan theme. When Chip and Dale made it for me, I earned another sticker for creating 50 different pieces of furniture. I then put the wallpaper up in my cafe and hosted a party. Peter Pan showed up, and I took a commemorative photo with him.

I said it was a tight party, not a tights party!
This also earned me a sticker--that's three stickers in about a five minute span! My owner level increased to level 16. My manager's next request was already fulfilled too (making 15 types of drinks), so that boosted my level up to 17.

I returned to the Magic Dungeon, and I was able to go down to the fourth floor. But not surprisingly, further progress was blocked by a seal that requires 80 stickers. So I hung around Castleton and granted a favor for Louie. Afterwards, I was able to take a commemorative photo with him and his brothers at the balloon stand.

I actually feel tall.

Later on, when harvesting a big turnip, I got a mysterious golden seed! I planted it right away, but it takes four hours to grow...at least normally. But I planted a seed of sprouting near it to cut that time in half. In the meantime, I tried on some outfits that I scanned from a page of Japanese AR codes. After trying on a few of them, I earned a sticker for changing into 30 ace ensembles.

After doing a favor for Daisy (she wanted a four-leaf clover), I was able to take a commemorative photo with her. Of course, Donald also joined in the picture.

No, Daisy, I'm not the camera. Look forward!
I then went on an action quest in Aladdin's world. There were reports of a big blue ghost causing trouble in the ruins, and there were rumors that it was Genie! Of course that wasn't the case, but I had to go fight to clear his name. I ended up re-fighting the final boss ghost of Aladdin's world, but the stage still wasn't complete. Later on in the level, I found another version of that boss to fight. This one was blue and its name was Growlem. After defeating it, I earned my 77th sticker for clearing the bonus episode. I didn't even realize this was a bonus episode! I had figured that sticker was going to be for the Magic Dungeon. I have now earned all of the stickers on the "Episodes" page. Also, no new episodes appeared for Aladdin's world. So I may be done here (aside from replaying levels for treasure).

When I returned to Castleton, I saw a short cut-scene that let me know I can unlock something new at the wizard's tower. I had no idea what it could be, so I quickly ascended the tower. I went up to the treasure chest with the big "77" on it, and I saw something completely unexpected: Ending credits! It sure doesn't feel like I've beaten the game! But the credits show cameos of many Disney characters I still haven't met in the game. After the credits were done rolling, I received a happy crown from the chest.

I later returned to 100 Acre Wood to harvest the mysterious golden seed. Like the big turnip, it was a huge veggie that required all of the animals to help me pull it out of the ground. It was a starfall radish. It earned me a sticker for "harvesting a legendary vegetable that shines like a star." I don't know about all that, but it is really huge.

This is going to be dinner for the next month.
See you next time!
