Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.

Day 71

I met up with Kid Cat out on Main Street, and he told me he needed a base where he can meet up with his fellow superheroes and talk strategy. I'd like to see what they all do. What are their missions? It is crime-fighting or do they just do things like rescue missing pieces of pizza?

I put the base up in the mountains where it won't easily be found. There's also a parking lot, where the superheroes (at the least ones that can't fly or run at the speed of light) can park their cars or scooters.

Many sci-fi items are unlocked for this project, including the hologram machine, spherical radar, and space consoles. I included many of those, as well as a robo-table (and four chairs) for meetings, a computer, some lockers, and a microscope.

One of the unlocked items is a purple-imp hood. Are imps considered superheroes nowadays? But then again, it does remind me a bit of The Tick. So I guess it's acceptable.

Day 72

I went back out on Main Street and rounded up Friga the penguin. She told me she wanted a house that's classy and regal. I picked out a nice, chilly home for her: Right under a waterfall, with a moat all around her house. She can take a swim in the frigid waters any time!

Indoors, Friga insisted on a classic sofa and a regal lamp. No new furniture was unlocked, so I decided to use what Friga was hinting at--a mix of classic and regal furniture. Hopefully she'll like it!

The code to visit her house is 0509-7759-226.

Just a couple of notes. First, I'm going to be updating this blog just twice a week now. (I was posting three entries a week for a while). Not only have I been busy lately, but I'm getting a bit tired of designing houses. I'm sure some of you can relate to that. This will extend the life of the blog, though, since it will take me a bit longer to design houses for all of the villagers in the game.

And secondly, I've just posted my thoughts (and some pictures) of the Animal Crossing 2016 wall calendar, so feel free to check that out. It could make a good gift for an Animal Crossing fan you may know--or for yourself!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good day!

Can you make more penguin houses?

Andrew · Dec 13, 2015

I don't have the Happy Home Network, should i update the game.

Jeff (mod) · Dec 13, 2015

@Andrew: Yes, you may need to update the game to access it if you haven't already.

No way! You totally mentioned a second house I did! This was in my Japanese version though, and actually was done at a time when I was running my own blog HHD back in August. I did slightly upgrade since then (I added the stone tile rug as a nice pathway).
I ended the blog once the NA version released- didn't really feel the need to continue since everyone in the US could now access the game. I have to admit though, I've kind of been itching to start it back up, but it's fairly time consuming, and with so many similar ones out there, I'd like to do something unique, like maybe do an e+ one or something since you can save pics on SD cards. If you're curious how my HHD one went here's the link to the week that includes Lily (of course since I don't know all villager's names, I was using their Japanese names primarily).

@Jim C: Yeah, you suggested it in a comment on an earlier entry, so I finally got around to checking it out. :P You make some very nice designs.
