Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So each blog entry will usually cover multiple "game days." If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.
Day 80
Alfonso the gator was on Main Street today, and he told me he wants to live in a dream where he could gaze at the stars while being surrounded by cake. That sounds out of this world!
I picked out a location up in the mountains, where he would be closer to the stars. Some fluffy rugs were unlocked with this project; they look like clouds. I used them to make a floaty path to his house.
I put a hammock out here, so that he could lie down and look up at the stars. A telescope is also nearby. In case it gets cold, I added a campfire and a couple of stumps to sit on. And of course, you can't explore the Milky Way without thinking of chocolate--so there's some chocolate cake on a table.
Indoors, I used the new lunar horizon (wallpaper) and cloud flooring. I used night-sky curtains and space sounds as the sound scenery, while adding several pieces of astro furniture and a telescope by the window. A star globe and several types of cakes and other baked goods are also nearby. Your dream has come true, Alfonso! Whether it's time for lunch or launch, you'll be ready!
Keep looking up and keep chowing down! If you'd like to blast off to Alfonso's cake-filled dream land, head to project 0090-7765-734.
I wish Alfonso would show up for me. I'd have so much fun designing his house.
I really enjoy making homes with either a sweets theme or a space theme.
One of my favorite things to work with in this game is lighting. It's something not many people pay attention to but it can really make or break a house.
Lotus lamps are my favorite lighting source to use because you can make them a bunch of pretty colors, they're cute and go with a lot of themes, and the light is small.
I recently redesigned my hospital and make the patient's ward in a meadow with the lunar horizon wall so patients can be relaxed and stare at the stars. I removed the windows and turned off the lights so the room was as dark as possible, and then I added pink lotus lamps in the right places and it really makes the room. I've also used them in my concert hall and in a lot of houses and I can definetly say lighting makes a huge difference.
I recommend you work with lighting a bit more in your rooms, it can really make them look better!

@Diana hmmm, I never thought about that. And I never used the lotus lap yet, I'll have to try lighting. (Really the only time I turned off the lights was for tabby's creepy hospital)

Is it just me or is the montague music getting REALLY annoying?

@Sparklebugsy: Yeah I've actually just been skipping the montages lately (unless I need an additional picture for the QR code).

Can you design me a house like that? Sounds like heaven!

@Beth: Maybe later, gator. :P Speaking of which, I've designed for two gators in a row. What a croc.
