Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So some blog entries will cover multiple game days. If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.

Day 91

I found Alli the gator near the fountain on Main Street, and she told me that she loves mushrooms. In fact, she wanted to live in one! Is there even enough room in one?

Since I'm such a fun guy, I decided to help her out. I gave her a round thatched house with all of the mushroom exterior features. Sweet olive bushes were unlocked with this project, so I put in a bunch of those in as well. I used two mush tables in the yard, and some actual mushrooms lined a path to her house.

Indoors, I used the forest wall and autumn floor (the forest floor hasn't been unlocked yet). The red dotted curtains resemble mushrooms, so I used them as well. No new furniture was unlocked with this project, but I already had the mush furniture available--so I used the whole set.

Day 92

Today I had a chat with Olivia the cat. She thought it would be cool to run a piano school. I didn't do much with the outside of her house; I just gave her a simple path and a bunch of cedar trees. It looks chilly out here, so maybe her students will be eager to get inside and play piano.

Inside, I used the music-room wall and music-room floor. No new furniture was unlocked for this project. I put four pianos and four stools in the room, and Olivia insisted on a metronome as well. I also added a few snake plants around the room.

This house design was music to Olivia's ears. If you'd like to attend piano class, sign up at project code 0793-7772-533.

Do you think there should be an accordion in Animal crossing? Would you use that in a loveo themed room since it has loveo keys on it?

Jeff (mod) · Dec 16, 2020

@Brionne: Yeah, that would be a nice instrument to include! I'm not sure about your 2nd question though, because I think this commenting system is (wrongly) censoring a word you used, :P

How did you get the mushroom house? Adorable setting.

Jeff (mod) · Nov 15, 2020

@Kelly: The mushroom exterior was unlocked when I designed Deirdre's house on day 34. Thanks!

Why do they call it the music-room wall and floor?

Jeff (mod) · Dec 13, 2017

@hayen: I'm guessing it's supposed to look like a music room, like in a school perhaps.

I want to hug the pianos!

I quite enjoyed Alli's design in particular. I love it when you get those sort of themes, like "A Pirate's Hideout," not "A Place with a Pool." With the latter, you can't do anything with the house other than... put the pool in it. But with a "whole house" theme like "A fast-food cafe," if you know what I mean, you can design the whole house according to the theme, because they don't just want something like "A counter, or Food," they want a whole cafe. I enjoyed Olivia's too, but Alli's stood out because it looks really creative and unique.

I actually like the hostile environment in Olivia's garden :P You can't see the back fence so it looks endless, haha
